| | Hey guys - thanks for the words of encouragement after my last post. That was certainly a wack situation. I am working on getting some pics up from the Judo tourney this past weekend. When I got there, they had messed up the novice bracket in my weight class (66kg). So I decided to enter the open division. It was a small tournament and my first fight was against a black belt (national champion of Guatemala - for whatever that is worth, haha). It last about a GREAT 20 seconds haha. No pain, no bruises - nothing. Just a swift ass kicking!
Hopefully the pics don't come out well for that one.
After that I had to fight the number one 66kg guy from my team. He is one of my buddies and is more experienced and at a much higher level than I am. Loosing was not difficult or embarassing. I was pretty proud of myself - it was a long scrappy fight. I look forward to watching the video of that one.
Tonight after practice I stuck around for one of the guys who teaches us to start teaching me another form of fighting - Hoteikan. It is pretty intense - but a lot of fun.
Aside from that, I have been playing a lot of poker and trying to maintain grades at the same time. I find that when I do well at poker it is very very profitable. Watch out Atlantic City, haha. Kerri is coming up this weekend and I am trying to get tickets for a Third Eye Blind concert in Long Island. That would be a lot of time. I have seen them 3 times before and once with Kerri.
Ok - that is all that is going on in the world of Gabe... More later (including pictures). |
